Re: its almost here....i cant wait
I was just thinking, when the first F1 came out in the 90s, it was so ahead of its time that it set the automative benchmark for a supercar for more than a decade. The leap in engineering design was so great no other car could come close for such a long time. Now, in the present supercar strata, what would it take for a car to come with this amount of difference over the herd? Have we plateaued out in terms of performance for this human invention we call a car?
I dont think the MP4-12C today comes with such a quantum leap of a difference over the others. But it is still a very compelling brand to own. Even if it loses out to the 458 in the inevitable comparo that is to come, I'd still like to have one of this over the 458 just for the heck of it. Even if it looks so ugly. I understand "form over function" when you are serious about making a supercar, but how wrong can you go when you are starting out with a mid-engined silouhette? That's the only disappointing thing I feel about this car.
