Hi guys,

I know everyone is talking about whether they have got their E90. So it seems a bit lame to start this thread. Just wanna update some of you guys that i just got the above after sometime. Its my first bimmer and it will undergo some minor mod next week (M kit, m3 mirror...)

I would like to thank a few people who have helped me to understand more about this machine. Thanks to Ryan, Sam, Wilson and a whole lot more.....

Next up for me is to change to an 18 inch tyres and rims. Any good lobang? Whats the price like?

BTW, thanks ryan for recommending Mike to me. Going to him next week to get some things done. Just met him today.

My picture on before and after mod will be up soon. Meanwhile let me get use to this machine. I must say the drive today is Damm good man. Damm responsive. Feels damm ego booster! Hahahahha

So guys once again thanks and in these few weeks, i will be asking you guys on some pretty amatuer questions.

Cheers!

Hey CONGRATS man!!

Take it slow, enjoy the ride as well as suss the mods u want to do carefully. Plan the route that u want to achieve with your car and then go for it!

Think that there are some forumers letting go of some 18" rims, u may want to look at them!

Remember, do your research before getting anything! Its the best way to "save" some cash, instead of doing something and then regretting!!

Cheers!

Re: Just got my E46 320 Sedan!

Liverpudlian, I share your joy!!

Last week was the first year aniversary of my ownership with my ride. Keke.. Time really flies!!....

Sam's spot on. There were at least 3 sets of 18 inch rims for sale recently (PG2, HM2, CSL Replicas). Do check them out in the Bazaar forums. :)

Cheers.

Thanks for the info. How to stop the mod virus? Only can mitigate by buying used ones. Cheaper and less painful.

Re: Just got my E46 320 Sedan!

Guys,

Any good places that you guys will recommend for tyres and rims?

Some place that has sports rims catered more for Bimmer?

Whats the combination you guys will recommend for everyday driving? I am thinking of 17inch instead of 18inch. I am not thinking of lowering or changing the stock suspension.

Thanks for sharing.

Liverpudlian, welcome to the club.

With your kit and mirror, you would not wanna go for 17". 18" would be nice for a 6-potter.

You have to judge by your taste, versus your budget. There are too many brands of wheels out there.

As for tyres, you need to assess your driving habits. Do you track? Or mere point A-to-B driving? Ride comfort? Noise? Dry grip, wet grip?

Think about these question before committing.

If your only concern is that 18" will slow down your car or give u harsher ride, then u can mitigate by choosing lighter 18" rims and tyres with softer sidewalls.

So if u go for some of the lighter BBS rims coupled with Pilot Sports II, u might be on par in terms of comfort and speed vs 17" rims and harder tyres.

Looks-wise, 18" will definitely look better and your rims will have resale value next time.

Re: Just got my E46 320 Sedan!

Hey guys thanks for your help in this one.

I heard 18inch give u a harder ride. Furthermore i am on stock suspension(for the moment). I am thinking of track in future but now its more for everyday driving. Just a comfortable ride.

The other concern is also the price for a full set (tyres included) 17inch vs full set 18inch. Whats the range we are looking at?

Someone is selling his BBS RK2 18" sports rims with less than 3 months tyres at $2k. Is that a good buy?

Is there any good tyre shop that i can goto and the guy will answer to my needs and questions? Any good combination of sports rims and tyre to recommend?

Thanks again.

Re: Just got my E46 320 Sedan!

it really depends on what kind of tires they are.

first of all... you'll never walk alone !! Mil wat ? No offence to other team supporters...jus let us indulge in some delirium pls.

go for 18"... cos i belive many pple who started on 17" went to 18" after awhile. Those on 18" like me thinkin of going 19" already... GEt your ride lowered plus 18"...good way to start.
