I don't know what's the fuss about M Performance, but for sure BMW will never let it touch the M5.

just based on #s the M550D is more "sensible" version, w the 535D the most cost efficient yet almost supercar pace

maybe like he said, diesel engines just lack the sharpness of petrol engines.
I don't think can compare street cars with LeMan racers.

Do people drive luxury diesel cars here in SG? It would make more sense to buy cars like the S350 CDI over a regular S350...but I don't really see anyone doing that...

coz previously diesel cars had a special tax which made it unattractive. Only recently they reduced the special tax n intro carbon tax rebate pple start 2 consider, if not everyone continue 2 pay 44cts per liter of petrol duty, which btw has not changed for many years despite petrol pump price increased so much already....

Sound would be another big issue to deal with for M cars. As it is, they are already having a hard time going twin turbo V8.

M550i(petrol) launch... no sound monster LOL but it sure revs like a race car!
