Anyone here have a clue as to what the lightest rims for an E39 5 series would be? size either 18" or 19".

It's always comes down to budget......
Good branded forged rims are very light, but not cheap....

Lightest is probably Neez.
U can skip all those Tuner german rims coz they are generally heavy.
Your best bet is Forged Monoblock Japanese rims.
Go hv a visit at Stamford Jurong Mega Mart and lift up that Volk Progressive ME.
They hv a set for your car but be prepared to pay a lot.

but they have a limited range for BMW over there so unless you happen to be in the area, don't bother.
went there last week to check out some rims and ask about SSW rims for BMW. the guy at the rims counter scratched his head, then scratched his balls.... then directed me to one small shelf for BMWs. max 15 designs on that shelf only... waste of time going down sia.

so no lobang for rims in singapore? when you mention jap monoblocks, what other brands besides the volks specifically?
just out of curiosity, how much are the volks?

Many Jap brands in the market like Sebring, Prodrive, Maya etc ..
The 19*8.5J Volk Progressive ME has list price of SGD1400 per piece w/o tire....I think u can bargain down a little.
If u like a multiple piece rims, Leong Seng has a set of brand new OZ SuperleggeraIII for 5er....very nice with deep dish design. It's 18*8.5 and list price is SGD 1250 before discount.
