Michelin Pilot Precedas or any other advice...

Looking to change to 18" tyres but need something both comfortable, quiet and grippy at the same time. Can say that grip not the top priority so PS2 and SO3s wont be on my list. (car is used for ferrying the kids up and down everyday and wont be doing any aggressive driving by the wife!) Thinking along the lines of the new Pilot Precedas 2 - PP2- but heard that not all sizes are out yet. Anyone can comment if the Yokohama AVS DB550 is any good. Heard that its definitely quiet but is the grip acceptable? What about Conti CSC2? Again, dont need the top performance rubber but 2nd tier would be good. Does dunlop offer anything in this range?

Been out of touch with tyres for quite a while. Using RE050s 19s on my own car while grip is a priority but for quiet comfortable with decent grip tyres..?

Appreciate comments from all of you. Thanks

Some forummers have tried Dunlop Maxx and said they are quite good and the price is reasonable too. I will leave TripleM and Alvin 666 to give their reviews. They are using these tyres.

I rode in a 318 valvetronic that had 18" tires and a vogtland spring and dampers. car lowered by 40mm. yet i could not believe how well it rode, and how quiet road and tire noise wise the car was. The tires was Toyo Vimode. i was told its soft compound so might be higer wear, but i was really impressed. both with the tire and with vogtland.

On my e34 i am using Yoko AVS DB550. Yes, its quiet but actually quite stiff. wet grip is excellent, nothing like regular Aspect db.

I think u will like Dunlop SportMaxx.
Price is cheap, grip is pretty good in both wet and dry, quiet and comfortable too. I havent really found anything that I dont like bout this tire. Oh, I know...its weight is in the same league as Bridgestone which is generally a little bit on the heavy side.

Rodders is also using this tire and he likes it very much.

Re: Michelin Pilot Precedas or any other advice...

the dunlop sport maxx does sound like a good tyre, the type i am looking for. But how does this compare to the goodyear gsd? Hope the dunlop offers a quieter and comfortable ride. And grip should be better than the yoko 550
Anyway, just found out the michelin precedas are not available in 245/40r18.
