Most value for money BMW?

Hi peeps,

I'm very new to this forum and to BMW. Recently saw a white 318IS coupe and fell in love with how the coupe looks. Read the reviews on it on this forum and decided that it wasn't time to invest in this coupe but looking out for potential good ones.

Just a query, what is your advice on the most value for money BMW? The e36s are till 2011 mostly and a good one will probably give another few good years after 2011 (3rd COE?) with TLC. The PQPs would be within affordable range but its pretty rare to get a good 318IS. But if I'm interested in an e46, the COE prices during 1998 to 2004 are pretty high, in the 30's to 40's k range, hence getting a PQP may not be worth it?

So if I would like to get an e46, which year of registration is worth it, so as the get the maximum value of of the ride? Sounds like I'm being stingy, but in Singapore care ownership is not cheap ... :whythis:

Sorry for this newbie question, but as im planning to sacrifice my current ride in a few months time ... losses are inevitable and I got to minimise them ...:yikess:

Cheers

Re: Most value for money BMW?

In my opinion a 2004 E46 320 is very value for money . about $8000++ dep per year.
thats like my old Civic Hatch!!!!! damn!!!

Re: Most value for money BMW?

Seems like we are having the same dilema.....lol.....
Fell in love with a particular 318 coupe at first sight!
But I am holding up like a high school kid who has a crush with fellow schoolmate!(Of the opposite sex naturally) < Had to include that just in case fellow mates here get the wrong idea!!
Will it last?.....I mean my interest for the car, the car's interest in me, keeping secrets from each other(car history-Tracked/involved in accident..etc)), will we argue in the public(Breakdown once in the middle of a road), constantly arguing in publc (constantly breaking down on road...lol..), Lasting relationship(COE renewel) ....etc ...etc.......
