Hi

Any idea which motul engine oil to use? X-cess 5w-30 or 40? Or X-clean 5w-30 or 40?

I read abt the spec but some site says x-cess is for LL-01 and x-clean is for LL-04 and for F10, we shld use x-clean. However sites also mention x-cess can also use for F10. Any experts here to advise?

Thanks.

You can try reading this thread.

http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/bmw-3-series-owners-general-discussion/80194-german-castrol-saf-xo.html

LL-04 is for rides within the EU while LL-01 is for those outside the EU assuming the same OCI. The difference is the level of sulphur in the petrol. The TBN diff between LL01 vs 04 is quite a lot.

My take - The cst ratings which indicate viscosity would point to the 30wt side for the n52/55. Motul x-cess is a heavy 30wt (12cst @ 100) IIRC.

Re: Motul engine oil

Read thru seems like German castrol 0-30 will be a better choice.

Where can we get as I see mx dun carry castrol anymore.

Thanks...
