Assuming I am willing to spend only around S$2k for my sound system? Have seen so many recommendations etc etc.

Anyone can advise me as to what is the best for this price range?

Speakers?
AMP required? What brand?
Tweeters?
etc?

Where do you recommend i get it fixed? Swift Motion? Dynasty Audio? Hong Guan?

Adrian, you have Logic 7? Just change the amps to boost the mids - but I think $2K not enough.......

Logic 7 has 13 speakers and a surround sound function for that landscaping acoustic feel - 4 on rear shelf, 2 in rear sides, 2 mid-subs under the front seats, 4 in front doors (2 tweeters), 1 channel in the middle of the dash.

The two mid-range subs under the front seats are supposedly the cause of the lack of mid-bass. Also, it sounds better in the E60 than the E92 because of roomspace.

Think it is powered by a 420/430 Watt multi-channel DSP amplifier.

Some of the minus points:

Logic 7 is developed by Lexicon of Harman Kardon. Its technology was to convert standard 2-channel audio sources into a convincing 7-channel surround sound playback matrix. In laymen's terms, it is supposed to be heard like your full spectrum home theatre system no matter where you seat. You will alway hear the same frequency as compared to typical stereo system. However, in the coupe, it sounded flat (to me) front in the staging..... just my opinions. Also, speakers cannnot compare to the Mark Levinson speakers in the Lexus.

The other negative point is the lack of memory settings for EQ, tone, balance. That means I have to manually adjust the low and high frequencies to levelling out the EQ from low volume to high volume.

The plus point - it is value-for-money for a OEM system. The price you are paying is a fraction of what you can get out there..........

Re: Need help for E92? What is ideal for my budget?

is it flexible enough to channel the all the power to the front ?

My car low budget lah!!! No logic 7. Only driver logic.

I think $3k is do-able.
But objectively speaking, you would have to go for some used stuff. Prices for amps have gone ridiculously high. A decent amp nowadays cost $1k, whereas it was $600 less than 2 years back.

I think you can do this, since you do not have Logic 7.

1. change the front speakers to a component set. Budget about $900 for a better than average pair.

2. decide whether u want a subwoofer. Takes up space but completes the music.

3. Get 2 amps. one for the component set. one for the sub.

4. With budget like this, i think its better to pop down hong guan.

No one has tried......

Try it dude. 6 speakers at the rear is overkill. Even for surround effect, 2 would suffice.

i think am just going to change the subwoofers under my seat. Do you think the exisiting amps are enough to drive 2 earthquake subwoofers that replace the OEM ones? Some guys have done it i think...

Who brings in earthquake in Spore?
