Hi just want to share some pics of my new wheels..pics not so clear bc used an unfamiliar cam..will post better ones soon.

Re: New wheels

congrarts on ur new set of rims, wat brand huh n wat is the set up?

Re: New wheels

I hv seen those rims at Stamford tires before..very nice and suits E65 very well I must say.
Congrats:)

Re: New wheels

thanks

promised myself not to spend on my car...but could'nt resist when i saw the rims...

Any way the rims are Leon Haderitt. Bugel.Jap 3 piece rims..20/11 rear and 20/10 front
tyres are CSC2 275/30/20 front and 305/25/20 rear..i think the front rims are too big bc thet are still protruding from the tyres.

Re: New wheels

305/25/20!! thats a monster dude.
i guess u r the first bmw to use it. Wat i noe usually this size is for pelali.
nice setup!!

Re: New wheels

Very very nice indeed!

Re: New wheels

10J for the front rims is indeed too wide for a non wide body car.
I think optimal in E65 is 9J and 10J, tires 255 and 285 front and back respectively.
I guess you can't lower ur car then as a result.

Enjoy ur new mods:)

Re: New wheels

true..amazingly the rims not rubbing the sides...not sure of the long term impact..then again the longest i have kept a car is 1 and a half years

Re: New wheels

Congrats on your new wheels! Looks great.
However, your tire profiles. seem a little low for your car. The overall diameter of the tyres have been altered from around 700mm to 673mm.
But I guess the tyres of the right profile may be diffcult to get due to the width of the wheels.

Enjoy!

Re: New wheels

after taking into account the great differnce in size, i returned to stamford and they conceded that the size differnce was abt 30-40mm. so after alot of searching they told me that i could i either accept the rim size or they will switch back to the originals. i hope that someone can advice me on the problems that i will face with a undersized rim/tyres besides the odometer difference. I really like the rims but if its going to create problems i guess i may have to change back and look for another set of rims. thnks

Phew!!! Giantic rims and tires!! :yikess:

Actually, you should be using 275/35-20* (0.2% diff) for the front and 305/30-20* (1.6% diff) for the rear if you continue to use these rims. *provided there are such sizes available.

Now you are 4.2% off for the front and 5.9% off for the rear which is way too high! Your speedo reads slower than the actual speed which is bad for your licence. :yummie:

Recommended should be +/- up to 2% is ok.

Re: New wheels

my opinion would b 245/35/20, 275/35/20

These sizes may not fit the 10" and 11" wide rims and the inner gripping walls of the tires maybe too narrow. To fit 245 and 275, the ideal rim width will be 9.5 front and 10.5 rear.

:)

thanks for the correction, appreaciate it!

Re: New wheels

well what happened is that for the front with 275/35 the lip was still sticking out bc of the rim design, as for the rear 305/30 is correct but there are no such size according to stamford, in the end stamford refunded me bc they made an mistake. i'm back on my 18" OEM rims and still looking for a set of 20". what bothers me was that the rims/tyres are now 'used', wonder how they will sell them.
