Newbie looking for massive help!

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie here...a friend of mine told me about this forum as the best place to get in touch with people who can best advise me

I have a 1997 Honda Civic(1 owner and it only has done about 140,000), sadly not a BMW(So i hope I can still seek advise here) but since my COE is nearing the end, hopefully one bimmer soon.

I'm having some issues with my Honda and I was wondering if anyone one knows any good reputable maintained and repair shop around the Sin Ming area...

I had my car fixed at a shop to change the radiator fan today, which wasn't working but since I collected it the car keeps vibrating heavily when I press on the accelerator from starting from 0kph. I told the guy that something is wrong and he drove it and said its nothing but likely a slippery gear(?) but assured me its safe to drive. I understand sometimes people overreact with any sounds that they are not familiar with but this one is quite serious...

I'm quite annoyed that he just brushed off the issue and left it alone, so I want to go somewhere else.

I'm quite the paranoid type, especially since the car is old, and dear to me. I'm panicking and I've no clue for any other repair shop for honda thats trustworthy, do you guys have any suggestions of any shops that will be open tomorrow? I would be forever grateful... :)

Re: Newbie looking for massive help!

Hi , sorry to highjack the thread.
As im new to the forum, certain rules applies, thus im unable to create a new thread.

Help needed
Would like to check for the following:

Recently I just bought a new set of rims + tyres
Wheels balancing + alignment done (less than 5days ago)

I have been experiencing vibration on the steering wheel once I hit speeds above 120 km.
My 1st though would be to send the car back to the particular tyre shop to check the balancing and alignment on monday again.

But is there any other potential stuffs to look out for?
Ball joint etc?
any other parts?

Kindly advise.
Snail..

Re: Newbie looking for massive help!

Hi Snail,

U just need to clock 10 post to start a thread. clock 10 is easy e.g. greet newbies of forum.

Anyway back to your question and situation, am thinking can be anyone of the items below (I m no guru):
1) ball joint
2) tie rod
3) idler arm
4) lastly, could be 1 of the weighs fell off

I would check for point-4 first :)
