Hi ! Friends ....

Can someone out there let me know why i encountered the following noise in my 2 yrs old 318i ride;

1. especially early morning when starting the car though it only take 1 crank, the ignition system seems loud and somekind of rough mech sound . I drove many cars but not like this one. Anyone can advise ? starter mech problem or this is normal ?

2. yeee..... sound seems to come fm my rear brake discs. Anyone know whether is this under PML warranty and what is the root cause or any simple fix. Tried E-brake but doesn't help.

3. when turning the steering , at times i hear squeaking sound and it is quite irritating.

Thanks and appreciate if anyone can give me some insights to relief my agony. Else car got to go see doctor at PML. Thanks friends :(

Re: Noisey E46

got same prob of the yee sound...it got worse after going to PML and changing blah blah blah...go to PML if u are prepared to pay this price...and...from personal experience...anger frustration...esp when passengers notice & remark...if u still have ur warranty...go there for e warranty claims...other stuff....i think best done outside...many bros here whom seen this invoice say the labour charges can easily be halved or even 1 quarter...

Re: Noisey E46

I can help with 2 and 3 because i am facing the same problems.

Mine Yeee sound came after changing my brake pads at PML. Even got Yeee sound when car is stationary. PML did not even bother with the source of the sound when i complain to them and they told me that it is e46's common problem. After bringing it up at Juzz4cars, and upon hearing, they say the "brake servo" is faulty. Since car still under warranty, brought it back to PML, told them the problem they they say, Orrr.. They say they will order the part and will come in 2 weeks time. All will be under warranty.

Squeaking sound always comes after awhile. I dont know what do they do with it but it is always gone after servicing.
