Does anybody face this problem - noisy BMW 520i when driving. Sounds like lots of road noise and poor hyraulic springs. Performance Motor claimed it is bad Pirelli tyres and asked me to change to Bridgestone. Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Ryan,How old is your ride and what model of Pirellis are you running on?

I had Pirelli on my previius car before but the noise didn't bother me. When I changed from 18" to 19" rims with Michelin PS2 tires, I was so pleasantly surprised that my car was so much quieter, ie virtually silent. I also tried Goodyear's Eagle F1 tires, very quiet (and cheaper) too.

Hydraulic springs - 520i got meh .... ?
Your tyre pressure / alignment ok ?
Any feathering ?
All repairs/alignment/ tyre pressure carried out by PM every few months. They should have figured out where's the source of the noise and rectified problem after 4 years. They never highlighted any other issues other than suggesting Pirelli may not be right for car.
Noise tolerance is as personal as your underwear. What's suit you may not suit me. Don't blame BMW for not testing Pirelli.Thank you, LimPeh. I believe you are right on target about using Michelin or Goodyear. The Pirelli specified for car is not suitable. Just shocking that BMW did not test out Pirelli over a few months and yet specified it for car.
