GUYS,have anyone fitted the obit ecu from BVO??
any comments??

i have it installed..
i'm real lousy at describing.. so i shall not outline the pros/cons of the obit chip..
but i have to say... GO INSTALL IT!!!

When u said "GO INSTALL IT", i supposed u got more than 10hp gain ??

Has anyone dynoed the car after the map ? I want to know how good is good that's all cos i am thinking of doing it as well, but don want to rely on butt feel cos it's been over used and not that sensitive anymore....

If less than 10hp for 1000 buck, it's not worth it IMHO.....

Would anyone knows if it'll work for the E60 520i? Can it be removed easily when needed?

Cheers.

Eveything else remains...just using electronics to gain 10bhp is quite good liao...again depending on how big your capacity is too.

What you gain is a more drivable car as the torque has been increase and more easily reachable....VANOS like VTEC need to be rev before power can be attained. What the ECU does is that it lowers the bar...so you can reach the power easier.

If you looking to gain 40% more power over stock using electronics....the only way to do it is force induction. (meaning that car is a force induction before you install ECU)

Re: OBIT ECU ?!??

wow...thanks..u install it on yr 320?? or ..??

I asked the question to see if anyone actually see significant gains instead of using butt feel cos i know that given a stock car, the gain will be insignificant.

AS for what u mentioned, I beg to differ that VANOS needs to be rev before power can be attained.

Double VANOS is most significant on the lower end range, constantly adjusting the cam timing of the intake and the exhaust cam. Together with the DISA usit, which make full use of the dual stage intake manifold to produce low end torque and high end horsepower, which is totally different from the VTEC unit, which basically shift the cam to allow more breathing on the higher rev band.

DVANOS has got no cross over point unlike VTEC.

And what u mean by the ECU lower the bar ?

Heard so much about Obit. Don't really know how it is like.
I used Hiop serial reprogramming for my 320i last year and there was a perceptable difference...behaved almost like at 324i, if there is such a car.
My main concern is that while Hiop is an establised German tuner, specifically for BMWs, Obit is a Japanese tuner that tunes other brands as of cars as well...wonder if that makes any difference when comes to reliability.

i'm driving a 330ci.
how much bhp gain.. i dunno...
but at least i feel tt the rpm goes up much easier...
have u tried trying to overtake another car, n when u full throttle... there's a short lag b4 the power actually comes?
well... after installing the OBIT, the car certainly feels much more responsive.

my mum drives a 330 too...
for someone like her who knows nothing abt automobiles n uses her car just to go to the market...
and yet she can feel the big difference when driving my car... it says quite a lot for the OBIT chip..

Bros,

I heard that OBIT is actually an actual copy of the Perfect Power SMT5, even the software is exactly the same. Can anyone confirm this?

wat ecu u using? where did u fit the cams?
did u install the fuel regulator?
my friend is very interested in yr cams...

well ,if someone have tried it and say good....
then will go install it !! :shoot:
btw, will someone define more on the ecu...wat does it do to reprogramme our original ecu, whether its a 16 bit or 32 bit...wat gains etc??
or izzit just like fixing the apexi s-afc...just to tune the air and the fuel throughout the rpm without changing the igition timing, etc??? please advise......

there's an existing thread on obit tuning. ppl who want to know more should do a search and look for it.
