Occasionally fail to move gear box to "P" (park) from R,N,D

Hi Guys,

Can anyone give thre information?my car is brand new 520I.after collection,the first 2 days I have found that the gear box sometimes has failed to move to "P" by pressing the "P" button from any mode (R,N,D). But after about 1 week,it is ok now. Does anyone know if it is normal?or should I go back to PML for them to check?thanks

since you are under warranty, go and check it fast.

No it's not normal unless you think it's your finger no strength.

But they may not be able to find any faults ( 90% of the time). And the problem may likely persist till you sell the car (50% of the time). Or the problem will decrease it's occurrence over time but still happens without fault code( 70% of the time).

Just one of those things that are not big enough to cure but not small enough to ignore.

Yes I have some of these issues too. No fault codes, impossible to replicate whenever I go to the workshop.

Oh yeah, just to make you feel better, mine fails to N. And my co-worker's F10 too. =)

occasionally means you are still experiencing the problem? then, of coz must go back bang table la

if since then never happen again ... then can forget it lor

be prepare to send your ride to ICU for 1-2 months at least.

Brand new car, something wrong/not right, SOP = bring back and bang table.

Do NOT be afraid of the Authorised Dealer. You paid $$$.

Be afraid of the forum instead.

always good to bring back to PML since u have 3 years warranty? make full use of it man....if gear problem? persists? will be BIGGIE problem man....
