paint job required

Re: paint job required

U can do a localised respray but the sprayed portion may look different in terms of colour in a few mths time. Which is why paintshops sometimes advise you to spray half the bumper or the full bumper. U might wanna use Mike of Sin Wee Chuan. He is good.

pardon me. if the colors is going to be different, then respraying the entire bumper will make the new bumper color different from the whole car. rite?

also, its not the bumper that kena, but the strip of metal (that holds reverse sensor) kena scratch about 2 dollar coin spots. to spray or not for $150? any how long does it take usually.

any opinion? :)

whats a 2 dollar coin spot? 2 one dollar coin u meant? to spary or not to spray depends on individual.. Cheapest way ,and if u can live with it ,is to get a good touch up paint (pen/brush type) and cover it... I did to my ride couple of times and its almost not visible unless u go so near to see that ur face almost want to kiss ur ride...

Like wat T6 recommended, go to Mike, they are good. U need someone that is familiarise with BMW colours so to mix the right colour for you.

New paint next to old paint on a bumper may become onvious with time. But if entire bumper is resprayed, wld be less obvious lah.

If only kena that strip of metal, then repraying that metal alone may be sufficient.

The downtime also depends on whether the paintshop concurrently managing other cars.

Re: paint job required

ok. this is the FR for going to mike recommended by the bros here.

1. call mike on his cellphone. sounded really professional and expert. why? with my lousy description of what need to be done on which part of the car. he can tell me exactly where it is and even offer me a replacement part when i visit his shop. impressed!

2. drove around for half hours still cant find block 3021A (thanks to my tele altas GPS). switch to manual searching and with some luck (after 6 loops in UBI traffic) found the shop around the corner after turning into lane leading to fongkim exhaust.

3. found him standing at the shop, although i never met him, he automatic move away the car part infront of his shop so that i can park in his shop. impressed!

4. next, his eye automatic scan the lower bumper area and found the damaged part in 1 minute, and replace with a spare replacement in another minute. then tell me to come back tomorrow afternoon. impressed!

5. all done in less than 10 minutes, no paper work, no technical talk and no nonsense and i get to drive my ride back too. really ultimate customer services. i m impressed!

6. i will report on the quality of work vs price once i get the spray done tomorrow.

Re: paint job required

Re: paint job required

Hi guys,
I'm not a sales person or trying to earn commission. But I realised there are only 5 paint shops under our resources centre.
I scratched my bumper before and I had it repainted. I went to.
ADSM - Advance Scratch Master
No 33 Kim Chuan Drive.
They seems professional and know their job well, solid paint database too. Although I know they don't usually do alot of conti cars but they got my color spot on.
Look for Leslie. The price might be a bit higher, I'm not sure. Anyone had experience with them? They use Dupont 2k paint and now I feel my bumper really stands out from the rest of the body ..very smooth and shiny. Had it done for 4 months now, my bumper still looks the same the day it came out from the oven. I swear by it, tempted to spray the whole body
Can check out their website
www.adsm.com.sg
More options more choices.

Re: paint job required

Dear all,

Do you think Mike will have spared bumper to ex-change while he spray your original bumper?

Don't mind having different colour bumper for 1 to 2 days. As long as do not need to leave the car at his workshop to collect dust and paint particles :(

Just curious.
