Parallel Imported BMW?

My very first post in this forum!

I'd like to know more about BMW ownership via the PI route, i.e. do you guys think it's worth the savings as compared to buying from PML, and whether the car's multi function display (not sure if that's what BMW calls it) displays English/ singapore maps etc?

I'm targeting the PI X4 xDrive28i.

Bought mine in 2014 528i PI car. Multi Function display can be easily coded to English (done by the dealer) and maps are local (S'pore, Malaysia, Thailand) as standard upon request.
What I like buying from PI is I can mix and match options I want or don"t want and not bounded by PML take it or leave it options in their car inventory.
Of cause there are pros and cons as stated in the sticky thread.
However, get ready for longer waiting time for the shipment (took me 5 months from build, ship and then clear LTA) because they almost need to build from ground zero for my car in Germany from my mix and match options I selected.
Overall I did saved about $40K compared to PML and no regret for me going PI road.

Thanks Viper Warrior for sharing! May I know which PI you went to, and what kind of payment scheme they make you undergo, e.g. Is it payment by stages to safeguard yourself?

Just pay initial deposit of 10% cash and pay the rest be it cash or loan in stages. Bought it from Emperor Motors Pte Ltd as recommended by some members here. You should check out other reputable PI like Vincar as well to compare price.

I would most probably go for PI route as well as PML won't even wanna entertain me when I asked for a manual transmission, like it was a crime to drive a manual bimmer in SG!

I agree that PML's service is questionable, or perhaps it's just the SE I got. I went in to see see look look at the 2 series, but received a rather snobbish attitude from them. Well looks like they are not getting my sales for the X4!
