Phillips Light Bulbs

I installed The Phillips Diamond Vision low beam headlight bulbs recently and though the bluish lighting looks good on the car, I feel that it is too dim when compared to the original factory yellow halogens.

There are the Silver Vision and Crystal Vision bulbs available as well. Anyone has any experience with these in regards to their light colour and brightness?

Bought for $75, including installation. Another $16 for the white parking lights ( don't know what brand...Taiwan made I think ) as the original yellow parking lights do not look good with the new bluish low beams.

yky,

Forgot to ask u....where ah ? $75 each i suppose ?
If I remember correctly, I got mine fixed at BVO for $60 a pair.

$75 for a pair. Riverview.
Think I'll change to the Crystal Vision soon.
Though the colour temp will be slightly lower then the Diamond Vision's ( 4300K vs 5000k ) and appears slightly yellow, it will still be 'whiter' when compared to factory halogens.

Does anyone knows what is the colour temp of the factory xenon HIDs that comes with the E60, Lexus, etc?

I bought the DV as it looks good on the car ( and it really is, damn cool looking ) but I have to balance aesthetics with practicality ( and safety ? ) mah.

Though both Diamond ( DV ) and Crystal visions ( CV ) are rated as 55W, the slightly blue hue of the DV lights makes the light beam appear dimmer as the 'throw' is not as good as more yellowish lights like the CV or normal factory halogens.

yky,

trying to get a better understanding...the CV are white white or yellowish white ? Price same as DV ? thanks mate.

The Silver Vision are yellowish white (fitted them on the fog lights) The crystal vision is even more yellow. I have tried various bulbs on the car but the DVs are the best looking.

If you are after the really long throw (bright bright type) then you can save a bundle and get the CV. A good middle ground is the SV.

For your consideration and itchyness... ;)

Diamond Vision 5,000 K
Silver Vision 4,300 K
Crystal Vision 4,000 K

Lower Kelvin longer throw.
Higher Kelvin whiter colour.

CV is yellowish white, like the normal HID lights u see on the lexus. The DV is really white-white.
Any way, both Riverview abd BVO does not have CVs for my car ( H7 bulb ). Guess I have to stick to my present DVs for a while at least.

I spoke to Bernard of BVO. He is selling the DV for $65 per pair. He does not have CV. However, please note that u will definitely need to change the 5W parking lights as well after u install either CV or DV as the original pure yellow parking lights look damn odd next to the much whiter CV and lagi whiter DV. Bernard has these as well.

yendor, Thanks... looks matter more haha... this island is pretty well lit.

kenntona, Thanks. Simple yet so easy to understand. Interesting avatar too.

yky, U can sell me those DVs...if u wanna...

One question though.... is it legal ?

Wah lou. Legal or not ? Don't know man  Anyone has any idea?

Anyway, as I said. can't sell now as I can't seem to find the correct CV bulb configuration for my car.

yky, I think pple don't care whether legal or not haha...only my fren does, he changed his white to yellow (not bmw).

Paiseh, I didnt read the part about not sellin now... if u intend to sell, lemme know soon, else i will get a new pair... thanks

Paiseh also. Won't be getting rid of the lights now.
Get from Bernard lah. But do make sure u check out the parking lights as well as I said, the white DV and factory yellow parking lights don't look too right next to each other.
