In view of the tremendous supplies of saleable items in the Bazaar folder, may I suggest a "flea market" element to be integrated into our monthly meetup? Essentially, it will still be the same regular BMW-SG meetup, but with goods on sale kept in the trunk or cabin. Nothing will be displayed on the floor.

This will:

(a) encourage more prospective buyers/sellers from BMW-SG to show face and products, essentially better participation - more reason to go to the meetup;
(b) ease the process of internet vending - nothing beats the real viewing and transactions;
(c) weed out suspicious vendors of goods with questionable sources - put a face to the things you are buying, more opinions on authenticity, fitment, quality........

Please feel free to comment.

These rules will be the receipt confirmation that the vending forumer will agree to upon entry to the market:

(1) Information - forumers who are interested in selling some items are encouraged to post the list before the meetup date for awareness in the meetup post.

(2) Sellers and Buyers - the admin/moderators of BMW-SG reserves the right to refuse admission to any non-BMW-SG vendor.

(3) List of banned items - sale of any item prohibited by the law is NOT allowed to be sold at the meetup, as well as the following:

(a) Fireworks, weapons, drug related products, flammable or dangerous items;
(b) Animals and pets;
(c) Tobacco/cigarettes, cooked food, soft drinks, juices or alcoholic beverages;
(d) Political materials

(4) Offensive items - BMW-SG's meetup is a "family meetup", therefore absolutely NO pornographic or "X" rated material such as films, magazines, DVDs, etc. are allowed to be sold.

(5) Counterfeit/replica items - the sale of counterfeit/replica merchandises, or merchandise which violates trademarks and copyrights of others is DISCOURAGED. Sellers of such items are obligated to verify that the merchandise offered for sale is not counterfeit, or to declare that the merchandise offered for sale is counterfeit. By accepting these rules, sellers indemnifies BMW-SG from any action taken against seller if merchandise is found to be counterfeit. Buyers are encouraged to mark down particulars of selling forumers (such as license plate numbers) to encourage trust and transparency.

(6) Jewelleries, Watches and Expensive Goods - Sellers are DISCOURAGED to transact such goods at the meetup. These should be authenticated by authorised dealers. If these transactions take place, both buyers and sellers will indemnify BMW-SG from any action taken against seller if merchandise is found to be counterfeit.

(7) Order and Conduct - forumers must conduct themselves in an acceptable and orderly manner. The admin/moderator reserve the right to determine what behavior is disorderly or unacceptable. No walking sales are permitted. No loudspeakers, bullhorns, jamming or excessive shouting is allowed. Audio device volume is to be kept LOW. You will be required to turn the device OFF if you are bothering other people.

(8 Vending Space - all items on sale must be kept IN THE CAR - trunk or cabin. You are not allowed to displayed the goods on the ground. The area around your car MUST BE KEPT CLEAN. Please respect the open meetup space. You are responsible for moving/removing your unsold merchandise.

Forumers agree to enjoy themselves and agree to thrive in one of the subtle frontiers where the entreprenuerial spirit lives. Buyers and sellers agree to treat each other with respect, dignity, and to live by the golden rule of treating others the way you would like to be treated. Forumers will further agree to accept a shared responsibility and goal of building the meetup as one of the best in the country. ANY FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN BLACKLISTING/REMOVAL FROM BMW-SG FORUM.

Smells good...... I mean sounds good. My kerokerokeropi frog is huge.

If Totoseow wanna clear his kinky lingerie from his closet, why not? But not the whips and handcuffs lah..........

We have seen things like Hello Kitty mahjong set and rice cooker on sale here, might as well make it work with the meetup.......

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

When F1 season come.. Later got 5-6 ppl all selling f1 tickets at meetup..

Steady ah.. Can bargain maciam wet market

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

got power point to test if the rice cooker is cooking?
i meant u buy from Harvey Norman, if not working, u can go back to them ......but what about this case?

IMO, not gonna work.....
There are flea mkts out there such as Sunday one at Big Splash.....sell things there better, more crowd...
So imagine u drive a nice modded 3-er but selling used paintings, puzzles, posters, diecast cars, clothing and wot not........got face to show up at the meet up esp from regular posters here? Doubt it man...

U may get lurkers coming in....and after no biz, i guarantee you they wont ever return.

Ok i m being harsh but trying to be realistic.

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

The whole idea is good..

But we need to find a way like site sponsors to be able to participate with added benefits

I scared if any tom dick and harry can come and sell grilles and badges or brand new parts .. Ppl like Sszone/wilson is in the losing end

For example : all items sold on flea market as to be 2nd hand.. Unless site sponsors

Guys, look at our bazaar folder. What's the difference?

You see any downside?

The idea is to bring these Bazaar stuff from the forum to the meetup. So no difference from current setup. Forumers can still sell grilles, badges, parts in Bazaar folder currently, no?

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

the diff is in bazaar folder, u get to read funny responses and it's a laugh..

I think the Bazaar is becoming a flea market itself, and I dun think it is funny anymore when strange names are selling strange stuffs.........

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

i voted no..becos its a car meetup..don't like to see ppl open boot selling things etc..the only time i like to see ppl open boot is when they have kick@ss sound system behind..if not..just park up..join the rest of the guys..and leave the car there to let ppl enjoy..

then again..thats just me and my dumb reason..haha who cares..do what u like.

i honestly think it's a good idea...

Another dimension to the meetup.

I think VAGSG did one sometime back.
(yes, VAGSG sounds a bit freudian :p)
Photos & all in their forum.

Of course there'll be the people who just use the forum
to clear trash from the closet that you see in Bazaar Folder sometimes.

You don't say...
Some even have links to their barang-4-sale blogs within their signatures...
hmmm

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

Adminds need to be stricter in bazaar folder imo...

I see those people just join first post sell things liao.. Tt one confirm must take action.. .not fair to site sponsors..

At least need to set rules on who can start a thread in bazaar folder.. Maybe verification ala verified members folder? But that way market will be damn small

And dun you think making this a real bazaar at the meetup makes more sense?

For one, lurkers are compelled to show up. Besides better attendance, we can put a face to a new forumer, as well as the seller.

For two, there will be more buyers and sellers interactions. That means dodgy and suspicious forumers (recent watch case) will avoid to show up..... It cleanses the system itself...... That also means one seller of multiple items can meet all the buyers at one go. The only exception is that the seller is dodgy about the product, or want to maintain a divide-and-conquer situation insofar as price situation is concerned.

For three, I dun think non-vendors (example you) are barred from selling vendored products like kidney grilles or badges or side indicators. They can do so freely in the Bazaar folder anyways - multiple times. What's stopping them? And whether they can do so over the forum or during the actual meetup, there is hardly any difference. From consumer standpoint, if there are multiple vendors of a generic product, would that not be good?

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

make sure there are ATM nearby. else a lot of stupid excuses.....

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

its definitely a good idea ken. more personal and transparent between buyer and seller. sometimes pics can be deceiving. kudos!

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

There was a Type R civic meet-up at kallang yesterday, saw them displaying some of the Brembo BBK and rotors at the back, and i think it is a fun idea!!

Re: Poll - Flea Market During Monthly Meetups

too many ninjas sellers in the forum until i give up liao nowadays Terry.
dun think there's anything effective to control those ninjas anyway but thanks for your supportive opinion Terry.

as for selling stuff during meetup, personally i'm not into it cos maybe i am more old school, i go there to see cars talk cars. don't usually bring my stuff down unless some bro arranged for it beforehand.
i'm more stick-in-the-mud kind, 1st a bmwsg-er, followed by Bimshop.
All hail BMWSG!!!! haha
