Porsche has unveiled the limited edition 2010 911 Sport Classic, ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Based on the Carrera S, the 911 SC is powered by a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine with 408 horsepower. The modest increase in performance (23 hp) comes from a new resonance intake manifold which features "six vacuum-controlled switching flaps". The 911 SC accelerates from 0-62mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds; top speed 187 mph (302 km/h); fuel consumption in the New European Driving Cycle of 26.6 mpg (10.6 ltr/100 km).

Available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, the Sport Classic boasts ceramic composite brakes, a PASM sports suspension (that lowers the car 20mm / 0.79"), a mechanical rear axle differential, and custom-made iconic Fuchs style 19-inch wheels from the Sixties outfitted with high performance tires.

Designed for "genuine aficionados", the SC features throwback styling with an exclusive Sport Classic Grey paint scheme. Key styling details include a double-dome roof, a 44mm (1.73") wider rear body, a "SportDesign" front apron, clear lens taillamps and a massive dovetail (aka ducktail) spoiler inspired by the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7.

Inside, the car features an exclusive interior with sports seats trimmed in brown woven leather. Other unique touches include a dashboard upholstered in "Espresso Nature" leather, an Alcantara roof lining and bright detailing on the shifter and handbrake.

Only 250 911 Sport Classics will be produced, and they will go on sale in January 2010 with a Euro base price of €169,300 without value-added tax and national specifications and £140,049 in the UK and Ireland.

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

nice but very expensive.....

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

yuks! that tail. they r going the way of lambo.....limited edition. jack looks like u. classic face.

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

any idea why porsche does not come up with future/concept cars for auto shows?...

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

Think about the only thing I like are the seats....

The 'classic' tail not too coherent with the overall lines of the 997. Grey's a bit drab (but maybe it looks good in real life, so judgment reserved on that). And uh, manual-only again...

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

rear spoiler looks like a duck tail!

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

very nice but don't like the duck tail.

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

porsche designers likes milfs...and only milfs... they like it old....

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

it's a tradition of design that makes it special...
it's funny rite if Porsche 911 starts to look like Lambo?
certain things are best left unchanged and not be altered dramatically just because others are more sophisticated looking.

I like leh. But is it wise to buy limited edition examples in singapore? Will the depreciation kill you?
thus in comparison, how has the 2 units of 40th anniversary 911 fare in terms of value till date? or the 3 M3 CSLs? err... or the 2 MC victories (this one i know a bit heh) or are we better off buying the normal car and use the difference as mod fund.

Hahah, the philosophy is to all luxury goods and material things..

"It's only expensive if you can't afford it."

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

im saying their marketing gimmick machiam lambo leow...

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

yes, i've always wondered how "limited" or "desirable" is their gallardo limited edition. especially when they immediately gave all the next production year's standard cars the increased bhp anyways, and then came up with a thousand other gallardo variants after that.

Re: Porsche 911 SC - Sport Classic - revived!

quite depressing leh .... F piech now taking revenge on Porsche try to cut their dick off. so the last car company doing both engineering and marketing well - finish?

will we not have a 911/box/cayman built with the aircraft construction techniques of the panamera to be a 1.1 ton car? probably not if that bastard piech has his way.

it's so depressing that finance minister after realising the situation even mentioned to get a panny, my eyes nearly pop out with surprise. not that I will do it, but really, the last piece of the best engineered street car on the road today, the end of an era, it is really tempting to buy now.
