Hi folks,

Problem since endless. After i collected my ride - used E60-523i July 2007 (Mileage 76k km) below problems i have faced so far.

1. Fuel filter - seal broken and had it changed

2. Hand brake - 100% pulled and still can roll back. Had readjusted the rear brake but only improved abit.

3. Aircon - Sometime it gave a huge "Dong" sound and the whole car also jerk. After increasing the temperature, it back to normal. It happens on and off.

4. Psss sound - I could hear ppsss sound when i start off my ride. Dont know where it come from - Suspension? brake?

5. Front brake - Everything when i brake, i could hear loud metal sound.

Had went to mbm and BCC to check 3 times and all sounded OK.

Ex-owner service history;

1. 64,200km - Change ATF oil, filter, coolant, brake fluid, washer tank motor with bush, fluid in hydraulic brake system and coolant with anit freeze.

2. 68,160km - Front disc brake pad, discs and sensor

3. 71,347km - Replace brake caliper clip.

After i took over;

1. Full servicing @ 74,645km, change fuel filter.

2. 76,405km changed upper and lower arms.

I really dont know what to do next. Any kind folks can advice me?

Cheers

Re: Pssss sound heard

Fuel filter ?? Tot pml said lifetime again ??? : p any idea when to change fuel filter ?

Re: Pssss sound heard

Even though if pump lots of petrol across the border, fuel filter still very clean at 80k mileage. Anyone had change fuel filter between 120k to 150k mileage? How is the condition when changed?

Re: Pssss sound heard

maybe vacum leak ...... the brakes need servicing - spray some anti brake squeal on the components but not on the pad / rotor surface.

Re: Pssss sound heard

Went to BCC this morning and have them to check for the pssss.
Output, psss sound normal for most BMW cos of it gas absorber.
Addition work done- clean front discs brake n found too much dust.
Aircon servicing and full diagnose check with computer and found all ok.

Cheers...

Re: Pssss sound heard

2 days has passed...problem still unsolved. :-(

Alot of my friends suspected - Checking and installation have not been carried out properly for upper and lower arms (both side) & wheel alignment.

Reason - before the a/m, everythings okay.

Aircon - After servicing, the "dong" still there and worst loud sound has surfaced.

Going to send her to see other Dr soon..

Cheers

If psss sound heard when going over a hump, then it's most likely from shock absorber. But you mentioned moving off from stationary, quite unlikely is from shock absorber if you don't hear it when going over hump.

Lets see what rod say. Do keep us update.

Re: Pssss sound heard

Below changed by Rod

1. absorbers (4 pcs) and minimum sound hear.

2. Engine mounting changed and now when up n down gear i wont feel the jerk.

3. Re-adjusted the upper and lower arms which BCC installed for me. (Loose)

Now the psss sound minimum.

When apply/release brake still can hear the ppss - Discs rotors not in good condition, to change it this Sat.

The aircon "dong" sound - Maybe due to sparkplug misfire, to get it change this coming Sat.

Re: Pssss sound heard
