Just DIY-ed mine yesterday. Pretty simple to do, and no special tools needed.
The FoB uses a CR2450 battery. Not difficult to find, but perhaps not as commonly available like other CR-type batteries.
PML wanted to charge me $60 for the batt replacement, so hope this helps!
