I have an E92 LCI with Comfort Access and I was getting key fob battery low warning light. I replaced the existing battery with a new Energizer CR2032 but occasionally the light still comes on. Anyone experienced this?

Perhaps try another battery and see how it goes.

I experienced this before. Consulted Service Advisor and he said to plug the keyfob into the ignition holder occasionally to let keyfob battery charge. I did as told but still couldn't resolve the problem, very frustrating as still got to change the battery every month.

I change to the spare(second) keyfob and no such problem thereafter.

The thing is that if the Comfort Access key fob has a replaceable battery, why is there a need to charge it?

if your car is still under warranty, check with PML on this. might be the sensor inside the key fob is faulty.

Digging up an old thread...

Anyone has a solution to this? Is it the sensor?

Anyway adding some info from googling:
- Key Fob with Comfort Access (CA) runs on non-rechargeable battery (CR2032)
- Rationale is probably to totally eliminate the need to take out the key and plug into the car
- CA equipped cars do not have the ability to charge the key, regardless of whether the key can be charged (I did not verify this with any technical pple)

Happens once in a while when my pockets are full of other stuff .... once fob is out of my pocket warning goes off.

Replaced E92 CA key fob battery but warning light still comes on occasionally?

Putting in the key fob while driving for an extended period of time solved it for me.

yes the other one is working fine...

so i conclude that there are some voltage/electrical problems with one of the keys... last resort is to go back to PML => probably ask me to replace it...
