Which place has the best skills to respray say a gunmetal colour rim to hyper-silver or something brighter. Good as in look like mint condition.

Re: Respray wheel colour...best in SG/JB/batam?

make sure the paint has dried well, just had rims painted and when swapped tires there are indents where they used their tools to remove the tires.

Re: Respray wheel colour...best in SG/JB/batam?

possible get it powder coated process and leave it to dry for at least 2 weeks.

Re: Respray wheel colour...best in SG/JB/batam?

I thought normal spray painting should be dry within less than 1 day? Unless of cos u sprayed a very thick layer on new paint over the rims.

BTW, pardon beng but what is powder coating?

Re: Respray wheel colour...best in SG/JB/batam?

Powder coating is instantly dry after they bake it

same with paint, if they use a 2K paint, it has to be baked, and thus instantly dry.

Poweder coating is more durable for sure, i used to use it on my moto x bike frames, really hard compared to paint, and just as glossy.

Beng, powdercating is just as it states, it is a pwder coating!! Basically, you put a charge into whatever it is you are coating, then using sort of like a spray gun, you spray particles of coloured particles, to which they are attracted to the charge, then you put it in a hi temp oven to "melt" the particles which then leaves it with a smooth and glossy finish. Problem usually is, colours are hard to get, usually balck, white or brown is standard, if for colours, must find a shop that stocks them

If you use 2K paint on rims, it will be no problem at all. It's probably whats on any coloured rim right now
