in asia, its called worldspace ... unfortunately the receivers are damn ugly... heheheh... there are some nice looking ones but not available locally in the stores...
well its kinda like cable... except this is through satalite.... so u do get a lot of channels for programming... http://www.worldspace.com ... and they do have a SG office where they do reply to email enquiries rather quickly.... i've emailed them a few times before...
Erm.. all the receivers seem to be China Brand names. Any idea how come the big names like Alpine or Pioneer hasn't caught up with Sat Radio in our region?
i think its a matter of supply and demand..... xm and sirrus in the us are so popular.... plus US$9.90 a month you get so many channels. Even the receivers are better designed, i.e. very interfaceable.
Look at the worldspace receivers, all standalone units. I'm looking for a unit that will work here and connect it to my Mac Mini so I can control from the touchscreen.
Oh did you know that the Soundblaster Audigy NX will work on the Mac too? i.e. it will recognize it as a sound device... I heard the sound quality is good too! If you're still thinking of putting a PC in your car, Windows sucks in the car.... I have it running, it crashes too often
If you're in the area give me a buzz if you want to see it.
