Think it contributed to her success...

Saw Phaik Hwa | International Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan Federation

After more than 20 years of training hard martial art forms like Tae Kwon Do ( 2nd dan ) and Wushu, I was looking for a martial form that will be effective and beneficial with advancing age. I was fortunate to be introduced to Sifu Ow Tuck Seng ( disciple of Wu Kung Yi) who taught me Wu style Tai Chi with special emphasis on effective and combative application of the art utilising the "small circle" and "joint movements".

When I lived in hong kong in 1997, I was taught by Master Wu Yan Hsia ( daughter of Wu Kung Yi) who was the head of Wu Tai Chi at that time. Master Wu Yan Hsia further refined my form and taught me the use of the sword and twin swords. After several more years of instruction, I finally became her disciple in 2000.

I was able to further my training under Master Wu Ta Hsin ( son of Wu Kung Cho) who is the current head of Wu Tai Chi. Master Wu Ta Hsin instructed me on the use of sabre and other fine techniques of the art.

In addition to annual performances on Singapore "founder's day" and 2002 Hong Kong "founder's day", I have also taught fellow disciples the use of the sword and spear.

Re: Saw Phaik Hwa da Tai Chi

20 years of hard martial art training, TKD 2nd Dan, Wu Style TCC and a Sifu of Jian Chuan TCC...... since school days, I've been a 'free spirit' in e hard arts, a disciple of an internal art for ~20yrs, a dojocho for 12yrs, freelance self defence trainer and am still evolving, I will gradly take some lessons from her* anytime if it's FOC..... then SPH will realise she is not worth being my teacher.

* her posture, form, etc does not hint a side of a true good martial art practitioner. Likely to be just good in instructional and not practical, those good in just in passing on syllabus can be promoted up the ranks fast, I seen it so I know.

Why did she turn up in court to answer to the COI in a crutch? Think she can get sympathy? Advised by lawyer?
