Setting up for Sepang

What do you do before track day?

Check list before departure:

- change the rims/ tyres to semi slicks
- routine inspection by mechanic
- change the oil
- change to track brake pads for that extra bite into the corners

Is there anything else one should get looked at? For Sepang, specifically, are there any particular fluids I should use... I heard good things about Liqui Moly products and I'd do anything to keep my temps in check. Any views on additional set up/ experience with consumable products welcome...

Other stuff:

- Touch n Go card
- Lots of spare Ringit for dynamic toll booths
- Helmet
- Tyre pressure guage
- GoPro camera
- PerformanceBox data logger
- Four point harness
- Octane boosters
- Passport/ Green card
- Towel/ Spare T-shirt n BO Spray
- Granola bars and drinks

A few points that I always do are;

1. Set up track settings for camber (frontt & rear).
2. Set up track settings for coilovers.
3. High Speed balancing for front rims.
4. Refresh new Nitrogen for all tires.
5. Check all fluids....
6. New Oil change.
7. Check & tightens all swaybars links & change settings if adjustable.
8. Check brake pads condition be it stock or race pads as they take the most thrashings......

Re: Setting up for Sepang

i would suggest u dun put on the semi slicks first.... especially on route to sepang from here...

especially with the weather nowadays...

y dun u put it on a spare/extra set of wheels meant for tracking... n store them there in sepang instead...

cos half the fun is the drive up there as well....

dun forget ur ipods/sunglasses n cap... buy loads of water at the petrol kios while topping up just before sepang

but nothing beats boredom if u have a "companion" with u... hahaha

happy tracking!!!!

Re: Setting up for Sepang

fly swat (for the touch and go card) is a really nice thing to have.

duct tape is an excellent tool to bring along. solves many problem, and can keep the guy in the boot quiet.

good to invest in a good quality pair of driving shoes.
