Hi guys,
I'm thinking of mod my suspension and maybe get some ARBs.
Any good recommendation from any master???
Bilstein? Sach? BC coilovers? what about ARB?
Heard alot about BC, cheap and good. What about Sach and Bilstein?
My budget should be 1500...enough right?

Hi !

Since your car is Sport Edition with M-Tech II Sport Suspension.
All you need is to install the UUC ARB and you can feel lots of difference :)

Later if you have more budget then go for PSS9 (About S$2800 to S$3000 - New Set).

Re: Sick of rolling

go for ARB first then see if there is any improvements.

next change the tyres on your car if they are CSC.

PSS9 is good to have if you have the money.

It's the standard specs in the E46 Sports Edition unless the previous owner stripped it out and gave it to his buddy.....

SGD 1500 can get you either ARB (with some change ) or BC Coilover. Aint enough for Bilstein,KW or any other coilovers.

Re: Sick of rolling

eh... i think the 318 Sports Editions were only M-Tech II settings... dont think it is M-Tech II shocks... maybe i didnt know what i was buying back then in 2004... :)

Re: Sick of rolling

hi,

I'm currently driving a 2004 E46 318i sport edition too and i have been toying the idea of improvingmy car's handling over corners.

From the information I read here, it looks like the way to go is to install the anti-roll bar. May I know what's the difference between Strut bar and ARB ? What is the swaying bar some bro has mentioned here ?

I do not intend to change the original spring and shock and 17" rims at this moment. So, appreciate if brother here can advice what to go for (with 2-3K budget) and where to do it ?

Sway bars are attached at the bottom of your ride to help improve your ride's handling ability.

Strut bars are attached in the engine bay and it helps prevent flexing of the chassis.

For 2-3k and you do not want to change your rims, tyres, shocks and springs, then get the ARB. You should still have plenty of loose change after getting it.

I definitely hope it's not the case. Previous owner was PML, I think there are a few in the 2nd hand market. Hand up please!!!! heheehh
some whites, some blacks...and mine is blue. Standard configuration CF interiors all black, M-Tech kits, 17" rims with Conti tyres, fogs lights. what other features I don't know. Like I said, I blur lah. :laughlik:

Thanks for all the advises...still thinking about the ARB, lemme try to push till the tyres complained.

Re: Sick of rolling

E46 318i Sport Edition suspension setting is similiar to the coupe's. It's slightly lower and definitely firmer than the 3-series "executive" model.

hi all,
Has anyone ever read this article about ARB ? It looks like it's never a one-size-fits-all solution.

Sigh........

Read this & see why UUC dun wanna make their swaybars any thicker than their competitors.....infact thinner than most of them!!
