Re: SILVER Coilover
hey TS, if silver cost 1.3k, I rather you go for ST Coilover.
It's the brother of KW if you find KW rather pricey. However you have to wait a little longer for the items as they don't keep stock.
I used to be on Taiwanese brand D2 on my Jap car. Cheap and good but very hard. I am not sure how's the comfort on the 3 series with Taiwanese brand.
If you are someone that love hard ride, go for BC brand as they are famous for being darn hard. *DENG DENG!*
However, having too hard a ride isn't too good for
road cornering. (I know some bros will fxxx me for saying this and say I tok crap. Here be out first, pleaseeeee.
)
Having a very hard suspension is darn good for circuit driving because circuit track are usually flat out unlike certain road that has strips or uneven. When the suspension is darn hard, the car is darn stable at high speed cornering and you won't feel much of the bodyroll. However when you take corner with strips or a slight hump at high speed, it is a different story. The car skips to one side and this can be pretty dangerous. For instance, Lentor towards CTE corner is a good example. I saw my friend car skipped taking that corner at 100km/h after hitting the small hump on the flyover.
You also must weigh over if you do bother about your passengers' comfort. Too hard a ride won't be too comfortable for long driving.
Try to ask for a joy ride on a silver to see if you like the setup. Do bear in mind, you can tune the damper rate. Am not sure how big a difference that can be. Some brands when you tune to a lower damper rate, the car feels sloppy and when you turn to higher damper rate, you feel too harsh. Then you will feel darn frustrated
p/s: sorry TS. abit slow to reply you. hope you are enjoying your coil and as long you are enjoying who cares what brand.
