Possible to retrofit for F10?
This feature is quite useful as the doors are rather heavy.

Pls advise. Thanks.

Re: Soft close automatic door

Dont think that can be done...

I thought the f10 door is rather light though.(compare to my prev E60)

Re: Soft close automatic door

F10 doors are aluminum alloy compared to steel door on E60.

Actually i think it can be done with the right parts. But $$$

Don't think so, have check with PML can't install in local. only factory fixed.

Re: Soft close automatic door

actually, i think this is good idea - for those with kids esp.

this sounds weird but i have actually fractured my own finger while closing a door before (honda integra showroom car) and had to operate (cos had an open wound fracture).

Re: Soft close automatic door

Chershen, hope your finger is now ok.

What a disappointment that it cannot be retrofitted.

Soft close is useful for kids, and when there is limited space from the car in the adjacent parking lot.

Re: Soft close automatic door

Agree.. F10's door are much much lighter... and much easier to dent as well :(

In such case it may be possible to add/exchange this mechanism, right?

I have seen on overseas forum soft-close door being retrofit on eg. E70 X5. I think it is a matter if you able to find a workshop willing and able to help you order the right parts and fit it nicely for you. And i foresee the cost to be high.

This guy managed to retrofit on his f10
