Solving a jerky gearbox zf or Gm

Taking care of the BMW autotrans.
I had experience and so I am sharing
Gearbox auto gets a bit jerky from around 50,000km onwards.

Usually when coming to a stop a slight small jerk.

Before doing a solenoid change which seems to be available only for zf gearbox, plastic pan vs a metal pan for Gm gearbox,

Doing a changing the rubber valve seals I. The transmission works wonders for me. And is a cheaper option before a more drastic change of solenoids.

The symptom are: When you come to a full stop, it stops but then jerks forward. pretty hard. You can avoid it by coming to a rolling stop and braking and releasing and gradually coming to a stop.... Dont worry this is not the DYI!

The repair is the Following.
Replace the:

Transmission Pan/ Filter
Transmission Pan Bolts (24)
Transmission Fluid 8 or 9 liters (lifeguard6)
Mechatronic Sleeve
Valve Body Seal
Valve Body Solenoids
fill plug

You can do some online research at
go to thectsc.com for parts or to see what you need. The Solenoid are only available from them.... the parts you get drop shipped directly from ZF

Or pelicanparts or else to your fav stockist in singapore.

Did atf at 40,000km.
Then this auto trans seals at 65,000km.
Car is now at 77,000km. All good
Will do atf and replace auto trans heat exchanger at 100,000km next with auto trans speed sensor.

Of course recommend also you replace atf every 40-50,000km as well.
Shift become better and smoother.
Cheers

This is the only topic online i find useful, thank you in advantage.
May i ask: so the solenoids from thectsc.com for zf works for the GM gearbox? If so, which one did u buy (part number)?
Thank you very much.

Solenoids cannot be purchased for gm gearbox

Solenoids for Zf gearbox can be purchased

Try replacing the rubber sealing sleeves. First
Zf and gm are different also

See some screen shots of sealing sleeves
For both gm and Zf
