Steering position

Anyone know how to set the steering position?
I had been trying to adjust the steering position, but every time I stop the engine, the steering shifted down and will not swift back to the position I had adjusted previously..

I tried insert the fob, switch on the ignition. Adjust steering, seat and side mirror position, press the M button once, red light lighted up. press 1, red light goes off. It suppose to memorise the seat, side mirror and steering position.

But I can't. What went wrong or is there a procedure?

Bro, do the adjustments setting in the idrive... Sorrie nt in my car nw, can't remember the exact menu position. Its somewhere in the idrive.

Bro , mine having the same problem as you .. But my case might be slightly luckier than u cos on and off occasionally ... Any bro can help and provide good advise ? wear and tear issues ?

E60 LCI. Mine sets mirror and seats. Did not try steering though.

I wish the steering could move up whenever engine is cut. Tried but... no work.

Must be something wrong with the steering sensor or memory module maybe ??

My pre-LCI E60 steering auto-move up when engine is cut for easy exit.

Guys i suggest you please refer to the User manual (page 46 for pre-LCI) for the setting controls. It's definitely not in i-drive.

Your setting maybe selected at "Memorise last driver setting".

FINALLY!!

I get it solved at MA, now the steering goes up when I off the engine instead of going down! Previously the steering shift down when I off the engine, problem getting out of the car.

And it stay at the position I had set.

The CSA taught me the sequence:

1. Insert the fob, start the car.
2. Adjust all the position you wish for the seat, side mirror & steering. Press M, then press 1
3. Off the engine, take out the fob.
4. Lock the car.
5. Unlock the car.
6. Insert the fob and start the car.
7. It should stay at the setting you had set.
That's it.
No need to keep inserting the fob once it is set for those having comfort access.

When I start my car, there is a knock sound immediately after the engine start. Anyone face this issue?
