Hi all,
When i traveling to north, i encounter steering wheel vibrating badly at speed of 175km/h and above:verysad:.
Suspect rims balancing out or ???........Please advice. I'm driving 320XL Yr 2007, car is original stock.

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

another thing is make sure your rim is hub centric

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

Yup, likely hub centricity issue if not original rim. Otherwise, rim might be slightly warped or not balanced properly.

If vibration during braking only, then the brake disc could be warped.

A 320i should be able to hit 220km/h with no problem.

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

wah, 320i can hit 220km/h? Effortlessly or needs a lot of time to hit this speed?

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

I doubt 320i can reach 220km/h unless its on a downward slope with huge gradient..

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

I think so too. If i drive too fast, balls will shrink so won't be able to find out anyway. :)

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

do high speed balancing $40 - $60.

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

I would also take a look at the wheel bearings depending on how long you stayed at 175kph.

Are you serious?

I tried 180km/h up north & rpm only 4000 @ 6th gear, lot more breadth to go. The car is still stable & strong. This car is highway performer.

What are you driving? The max i have tried on NSH was 160km/h for a short distance only. Didnt bring extra 'toll' fee. :)

Re: Steering wheel vibrate at speed of 175km/h and above.

180km/hr sure can la... I tried that myself .....

Mine is E90, Y2006, done 89kkm. Very sure this can go easily hit 200km/h. But try with good car condition like good tyres.

320d can cruise at 220km/h on flat road (done it in France) so I thought 320i should be the same.

I think 325 & above can hit 220km/h.

M54 2.2L can hit 200km/h thereabout. Should explore 1 fine day.
