steptronic maintenance?

Hi guys, I am at 118.000km now, car is 5 years old (320i 2.0L) and I am wondering if I need to change the transmition fluid? I know BMW states "Lifetime" but I really wonder if its a serious argument to never change the transmition fluid.

Any thoughts?

I changed mine at 55,000km mark. Not expensive to change. You shd consider.

Great! Pls tell me where did you have the change done, what oil brand did you use, and how much they charged you??

Also, i read somewhere that there is a filter in there that needs to be changed, did they change that one?

I had my transmission oil changed during Inspection II servicing at 72,000 km. Usually, they will do any engine flush as well.

If you go to any of the workshops specialising in BMWs (refer to the list of workshops listed on this website), they will know exactly what to change. Transmission oil and filter were replaced. Cost was approx. $200+ (if I recall correctly).

I left it to my workshop, BVO to handle it. Dunno what brand they use. Costs S$120 if I remember correctly.
