delrosa81;796249 said:Did see G Power send down a guy to do installation on an E60 M5 2 yrs back at a local site sponsor workshop. Witnessed the installation first hand. Installation will require some cutting of the frame at the engine bay to clear the 2 superchargers. So think over it carefully, ESS seems much more popular in the states. But nv heard or seen ESS Ms in Singapore.
Heard that there was another E92 M3 owner interested to do the G Power mod.
There might be a few G Powered Ms running in SGP but the owners will be very low profile about it.
clar;796255 said:The ESS kits that i have been reading in the states seem to be an easy bolt-on for our M3. I am getting a little bored with my M3 and those fellas who went the supercharger route all seem to be singing their praises. Anyway, to get LTA approval for supercharging a car, it would require paperwork from BMW M approving the use of the kit on the specific car. That is something impossible to obtain i think. If i do explore this, it would have to be accompanied with proper LTA approval. It would be damn tough for sure, but i don't like to be sneaky about my mods. Everything must be on the right side of the law.
delrosa81;796266 said:Yup, I see alot of ESS M3s in E90post, seems like ESS is the preferred choice in the states. Err I tink its not impossible, just needs alot of time, money and patience to get it approved. But it will depend on whether you find the effort and money spent worthwhile in your opinion. Bcos if I were to undertake such a project, I will have to be very sure, I will keep my car all the way till end of 10 years. if not, I would not proceed with it.
But different strokes for different folks. If you do go ahead, it would be nice to provide pics and FR during and after installation. Would be very keen to see a LTA Approved ESS blown M3 in Singapore.

not expensive either.. G power workshop very near where i stay.. lol!!!
delrosa81;796571 said:Wow! Nice! 650hp M3, amazing! Must be a real beast to drive!
Its not expensive? It sure is expensive to me lol, cos the E60 M5 did the G Power kit for approx. SGD40,000+++ if my memory serves me correctly as they had to pay for the G Power Tech's flight, hotel, etc while he is here doing the installation.
masschaoz;796613 said:It's abt 20-30k: for 200+ Hp morE and the kinda price we pay for our car not ex la..
jaskin;796623 said:BTW what's the load rating that the DCT can take?
satinGHOST|r!der;796627 said:600nm. Most on DCT will have it torque limited to 550nm MAX from what I have seen.
The higher powered ones who go all out are mostly on manual transmissions with race clutches.
Clar, I think its better to wait for the F30 M3 instead of SC the current M. I think the only maginificent thing about the current M is the fact that it will be the last highly strung NA ///M. I can understand that it gets boring after a while but even that didnt prevent me from getting another M. It is the sum of parts that gives you that harmonious feeling. Plus you got the M5 as a power jewel. I think the F30 M3 wait will be much more satisfying. You have to remember that supercharging also still draws alot of power from the engine unlike Turboes and it wont be as efficient. Of course power will be more than any stock M3. IIf that's the prime objective, then go for it.

If they release it on a regular M3, i would be one serious customer. However, even if they do that, it would be some very late run-out specials making it too close to the release of the next M3. M confirmed that they are not making a M version of the current Z4. That's like the worst piece of news from M for me in recent years
I truly desire a Z4M coupe. It's the M car i desire the most in my bucket list...

lose a bit of top end but pick up quicker....
anyone can verify?
taaxed;796742 said:Have you tried driving one before? I have a few times and it's nonsense...I prefer the regular e46 M3 coupe. For some reason, the z4m never "feels" fast to me, also they should have done something about the body work like they did with the older z3-based M roadster and M coupe.
That's pretty much what a higher final drive does, you'll always be in higher rpms, top speed will suffer and fuel economy will most likely suffer depending on what kind of driving you do. I think the factory gearing is fine. It's already quite short in the DCT models, the manual could do with a higher final drive though. Not worth sacrificing the top speed if you drive in malaysia though!!!

clar;796851 said:I am not so sure abt the Z4M Coupe (not roadster) being nonsense, at least not based on what i have heard from owners of the car. It's prob the most focus in driving dynamics than any other M car due to its small size and short wheel base. I like it for its liveliness and single-mindedness. Of course, all these is based on hearsay cos i have never had the good fortune to drive one. I do have a minor gripe with the prev Z4M. It always had it ass handled to it by Boxsters/Caymans in the handling and feel dept. It's prob faster than them by virtue of its superior S54 lump and more raw, but not as polished and sharp. I can live with that if only they will make one with the current Z4...
