Yesterday in the forum section of the ST there was a letter from some dumb ang mor [but he has plenty of local sympathisers who are just as dumb, don't worry] urging Singapore to "set a good example" by cutting back on carbon emissions.
And you know what that means.
For those of you who have not had the experience of tangling with environ-mental cases in the US and UK: the next step will be a letter-writing campaign against SUVs. So wasteful, so greedy, blah blah blah, in short, the politics of envy concealed under a self-righteous veneer of concern for later generations etc etc. A load of political bullshit from all the dried-up middle-aged women in their protons and vioses.
Now don't get me wrong: I have no time for SUVs either. They drive like crap, and are usually driven by lame-asses who get them because it makes them feel "safe", while everyone else feels a hell of a lot less "safe" while mummy tries to feed the brat with one hand and drive with the other. *But* once we let SUVs be demonized, fast cars will be next. That shithead Ken Livingstone in London is ostensibly going after SUVs, but in practice his taxes are directed at people who have the nerve to drive cars that produce more than a certain amount of CO2 per km. It's all too easy to imagine that kind of bullshit being brought in over here; after all, only "rich" people [like us] will suffer, not "the lower income".
By the way, also in yesterday's ST, Andy Ho had an excellent article about the global warming swindle. I hope everyone will read it and get ready to fire off letters to the ST when the enviro-dumbfux start their campaign against our cars......meanwhile, Sheryl Crow wants you to use only one square of toilet paper when you crap. Don't laugh, it's probably as effective as all the other rubbish these idiots want to force on us. I'm a bit disappointed with Sheryl though --- why didn't she suggest that we use *both sides* of that square of toilet paper? Or is that where she writes her lyrics?
