It's not about whether the eyes can tell the difference. When you go for inspection, they will measure the transparency with a machine. Less than 70% = you rip it out on the spot.
So if you're not intending on keeping your car that long, or don't mind ripping your tints out (leaving sticky stubborn residue behind in the process) everytime you go for an inspection, go ahead. Some people think that way.

wow, thanks for the info.
i better go for 85% tint all around by huper optik than.
the guy at huper told me that after installation the 85% falls to around 70%.
is this correct ? also i have to cut a rectanglar size for the ERP unit.
but some folks here said that huper optik non metallic, so dont have to cut hole.
so who is right here ?

I chose the Huper Optik Ceramic (non-metallic) for my car so that I don't have to cut the ugly hole.
It's more expensive but supposedly lasts longer. I have no problems with signals getting through my glass. Even my GPS works perfectly through the ceramic tints...

Dunno bro.
I chose the same colour tint all round cos I don't like the back to be darker than the front. So I told them to put the same tint in front at the back glass.
Also I don't like the mafia black out look, so I chose a very light tint. I think it's Klar or something.
Passed inspection with no issues.

Yup, he did use some kinda gauge. I choose the lightest tint.

I used Huper too. Ceramic and the back window was the highest it could be, the back side windows were the highest it could be (5% less than the rear window I think), then the front side windows were supposed to be another 10%(?) less than the rear, but I chose to keep side windows at the same tint (did not want that horrible difference in shade) and the front screen complies.
So, my only problem come inspection time, will be the front side windows.
No ugly ERP cut out, no GPS or Satnav problems and no tint in my transitions spectacles which are supposed to go dark in sunlight and act as sun glasses.

Talk about HO make me angry only. They cut the stupid hole for my ERP don't know why. I opted for front legal tint, all around.
1) Looks STOCK.
2) Heat rejection MY B*LLS.
3) COST 3 TIMES MORE THAN TERRY'S 5% ALL AROUND TINT. (Almost SG$1k)

cool n lite is good... good service from them, thumbs up! was there last week...
if u wanna go for the approve, roughly ard 400 plus bt 60% heat resistance whereas u need to top up another 300 for the 99% one...
highly recommend...
