Turbo inlet hose humming sound

Hi Guys,

Anyone experience this sound while driving. IS irritating.

Is not tiak sound. It air suction sound. According to PML, they claim all 1 series have it.

Yup, sound like vacuum cleaner. But the funny thing is wet weather and driving at night the sound is softer

Take 1 of PML test drive car & see whether it is normal or not.

If yes, try it out on 316.

If the same sound exist on both 116 & 316, write to BMW Asia & CC service manager. Since PML is not competent to answer it.

Any leaks in the hoses before and after the inter coolers ?

Yup, sound like vacuum cleaner. But the funny thing is wet weather and driving at night the sound is softer

Hi there, I think I have the same humming sound too. Mine seems louder on warmer days as well. Seems to come from the passenger side.

Complained to PML but they could not find the source nor find the solution to it. But at least the lead mechanic acknowledged that there was a sound.

Mine is a 116i. Completely stock.
