Tyre repair kit or Portable air pump??

Hi

Since our do not come with spare tyres, and since most of us changed to normal tyres after the run-flat ones ware out, wonder what does the Bros on this forum recommend to put in car for emergency situations in case you have a flat tyre.

1. Tyre Repair Kit that is good for one flat tyre or

2. Tyre inflation pump that is powered by 12V car power socket.

Which do you use in your car and where do you recommend to buy it from?

buy both lah, it doesn't cost a bomb.

can get the portable air pump in most car accessories mart... some make in china cost less than $30.

repair kit, got a few brands & prices.... choose what u like.

I heard the Tyre Repair Kit (good for 1 tyre repair) effectively shoots glue into the tyre to seal any leak, as a result, causing the Inner wall of the RIM and Type very sticky. Tyre repair shops will complain.

I have never used one before, so dont know if this is true. Don't they just pump air into the deflated tyre?

those pressurised can are quite easy to fix your tyre fast but only a tempoary measure thus you still need to get the tyre fix internally, the tyre shop has nothing to compaint about the sticky liquid , you just offer them more $ and time your problem solve:woottt:
dont forget to have your pressurised can properly cover if your are going to carry inside your car under our hotsun temperature might shoot up very hot
portable airport is a better choice and is weather proved.

dude, from the way i see it, you need both.

tyre repair kit to repair the leak, and portable pump to inflate the flat after repairing it.

if you only have one or the other, you'd only solve half the problem.

air pump only help to inflat and get you car move.
pressurised can came sealant with pressure and supposed to seal the hole and inflat you can go.
that is also those repair kit in the market, but trust me it is not going to be easy and dont waste time try doing the repair becos you likely will demaged it.
and all the above methods are temp measure and still to go shop tohave it repair internally.
If you the one can effort just do what ever temp method and get your car move to nearest shop and change the tyre will be best.

That's why I ask, maybe the sealant ones are better option since it will seal and inflat at the same time. So I dont need a portable pump. I know these are temp measures and my objective is to get the tyre inflated in case of a puncture or flat and get it to the nearest tyre shop to get it fixed properly. No plan to drive around with a supposedly punctured tyre. This will also help protect my Rims, in the event of a flat so that I can get the tyre inflated and drive to nearest tyre shop instead of driving with a flat tyre, damaging the rims.

1 can of Sealant will not be able to inflate your flat tyre sufficiently for you to move it.

yes , 1 can may not sufficient for 1 big tyre so you have to carry 2 can.
and storage has to be careful if your car is always under hot sun.
sinner108 seems like your concern is your RIM
frankily speaking my personal concern is Safety above everything.

Go buy Airman tire repair kit. has bottle of sealant to pump into deflated tire and plug in air pump to inflate tire after pumping in the sealant. Able to drive 300km to nearest tire shop.

I always carry this kit in my car boot & leave the stock spare tire at home. Weight saving. I had a group buy for a few bros b4.

Ya, I very sayang my Rims la.... so dont want to be a hero driving around on a flat.

U can buy direct from distributor - go google. Workshops sell with slight markup.
