Upsizing to 19inch AC...

Hey... im thinking of upgrading my stock 16inch rims on my current e90 to 19inch Ac ones.. i was juz wondering hw much i would offset the price if i were to trade in my current tires n rims which are still rather new.. im gettin diff quotations for diff shops.. ani 1 noes hw much i should be lookin at? thx..

dont have to care much about the trading in actually..wont differ much... u shud be more concerned about ur new rim and tire price

Don't trade in cos they're not worth much money.

Just keep them at home so that when you sell your car, you can put back the stock wheels and sell the 19's. You get back a lot more that way rather than to sell your car with the 19's or rebuying a set of 16's...

Yeah I agree with Chick. Firstly, make sure you have enough storage space and secondly, be prepared for an earful for taking up so much space for your junk. kekeke

I did like what CBS suggested. It is better this way becos the trade-in value of the stock rims is peanuts; but when you need it you are gonna be charged an arm and a leg for it!! In my case, I am lucky enough to have my fren agreed to store it for me, otherwise..........LOL!

Hi Aveen,

I traded in my E90 320IA run flats to change to 19" AC Type IV replicas....kind of disagreed wif the view that I may hav problem changin bac next time i sell my car n i need to change bac to orginals. Reason being these 16" rims n tyres are stock on all 320IA now n there are many many many many og these on the roads. In other words, many owners wil b trading in the stock rims so finding a set is not difficult IMHO.

Also, rubber hardens over time. If u leave yr set lying around for next 2-3 years, the tyres becomes worthless.

my 2 cents. I traded in my set of run-flats to Poh Heng at 800 bucks, 6 months old car wif 8000 km on the set. Felt it was a good price.

$800 is definitely do-able.

I remember one tyre shop offered me $80 for my set, most offered $150-200. Mine have 1 month old Contisports on them.

But chances are, to sell your original 16" wheels to a tyre shop, you're gonna get peanuts. To buy a set of used original 16" wheels, especially from tyre shops, you're definitely NOT gonna pay peanuts.

Aveen, you should defnitely hunt around to see whether you can get $800 for your set...

damn..800 bucks is good price man.. my stock 16 only traded in for 200 bucks.. imho.. if its 800 bucks..might as well trade it in...its not easy selling the rims in the future too...

anyway hows the weight of ACS replica? heavy?

MY E90 felt better and lighter then on the 16" run flats, although it is using 19" now, on AVS Sport tyres. N my friend got 1K trade in value for his brand new E90 rims n tyres.

Just call Poh Heng n llok for Justin. Very good n friendly guy.

Decide on rims and size.

Check tyre prices.

Then you will know the trade in value of the RFTs.

These shops give you a high trade in value when they make more from your rims n tyres.

Hmm.. $800 is a really good price... Most shops are unwilling to take in such a price as they claim 16inch is rather worthless.. realli need to upsize asap... 16inch doesnt complement the car very well..

I paid net $2000/- for my set of 19" replica AC type 4 racing rims, with Yoko AVS Sport tyres, 235/35/19. Was quoted $2.8K less 800 bucks for trade in of my 6 months old RTFs, with 8000 km done. Reali felt it was a good deal.

I recommended another friend with a brand new E90 320IA there and he top up only $1.6K to have the same setup as mine. in other words, his 500 km tyres n rims got him a trade in value of 1.2K.

Again, look for Justin at Poh Heng. I felt these were good deals....juz mention Ivan intro u n he shld know who...

Agree we hav to be careful n do our homework bro....refer to my previous posting. i listed the prices there.....u tink good deal? I thought so but I suspect when Poh Heng is flooded with E90 320IA rims n tyres, the trade in value will fall....keke.
