Can bros here advise if UUC Pulley can improve E39 performance. Is it noticeable and how much to pay ? Where to install and will it cause problems to other parts like air-con etc ?

Always learning something new...

Thanks again.

Time for E39 brudders here with the UUC pulleys to share with Lim!!

Go go go!!!

I've used UUC pulleys for my previous E46 320i. Frankly, I don't feel much change in terms of power or torque improvement. Maybe I'm not sensitive enough?
The steering felt heavier ( slightly ) though. There was no problem of overheating, even in traffic jams.

Think there were previous posts regarding the pulleys. Overall, the feedback has been quite positive. Increased low end torque, freer revving engine are some of the benefits from changing the pulleys.

U have a very THICK butt sir!! Or maybe a SC or TC or NOS den you can feel the bhp & TQ.........

Wat's ur new ride now??

'The Great White'

Yes, perhaps I have an insensitive thick butt, but the butt can definitely feel the effects of the Hiop chip upgrade though.
Now...driving much more sedately in a 730.

WOW!! 730!! E65??

Cheers bro!!

Nothing 'WOW' about the E65 730i really. Performance is decent ( 8.1 sec ) for such a heavy car and it is very comfortable inside.
The engine would be much more appreciated in the 530i of course. But with a $15K difference between the 530 and 730, I opted for the 7 instead. No regrets though. Get so much more 'car' in addition to gadgets and a free country club membership at Phuket,

For the past 2 days, my car was in PML for a software upgrade so they loaned me a courtesy car..a 745Li. Never experienced that type of acceleration ( 6.3 sec ) before. Now, that is what I call 'WOW'.

Returned the car this evening...don't want to let go... :(

I learnt that if one's car is heavily iced, it may pose problem with insufficient battery charging when the change of pulley, not sure if anyone has experienced the same here.

I would be interested to know how it improves E39 performance as well .. :)

Bro, is that U??? The same KT I know??

Bro, how to affect the charging when the underdriving is only on the water pump & power steering???

There are other company in the States that sells the underdrive pulley kit that also under drives the alternator, they'll ask if ur car is iced or stock.....

So if iced, they'll send u a lighten alternator pulley but same diameter as stock pulley, if your sound is stock, den they'll suggest under driving the alternator with a bigger alternator pulley as well to get more juice from your car!!

So far about 30+ E39 fitted the UUC pulley liao!! U can get feedbacks from Juzz4cars, Tropical Success & BVO, alot of E39ers had gotton their pulleys fitted there!!

Too bad both my buddies (E39ers) not in town, Mc Coy & Gab, they'll give you a better review how good this is....

Cheers!!

Bro, thanks for the explaination, you cleared my doubts !!

Yeah, same guy, different car :)

Thanks guys for the information.

Any E39 out there to comment on the pulleys ?

To KT - we both drive the E39, please share with me how to "improve" the handling and performance of the car ?

Barsket Wilson,

U forgot me also drive e39 ah. To answer KT's qn, my car heavily ICED. No flat battery from the pulley installation yet.

JHLim, there are many writeups and feedback on the pulley in this forum. Why don't u do a search for the thread. Too tiring for me to write all over again liao. If u want, I can let u get in touch with another forumer (who does not surf this forum often) with a 2.0 e39 and u see the improvement to his ride. He enjoyed the mod.

Well, for a start, I changed to 18" rim, it improves on the handling but ride comfort suffered slightly and also the pick-up is slower. In exchange, I get more stares at the stop light and a whole lot of satisfaction looking at the car :)

Sorry lah, computer ku ku lah.

I had the pulley done on my e39 almost 2 mths now, definitely felt much lighter on the low end. Car takes off quite fast... even my PML fren agreed when he compared it with his e39.

I felt consumption went up initially but now it has normalised.
Yes, Steering felt abit heavier so now power steering comes from my arm also... at least get some exercise when driving..kekeke

No overheating, enjoyed the pulley enhancement. Now thinking abt Obit when $$ comes in....

Cheers, Dan
