hi bros - do you think we will see the introduction of valvetronic into the 6-cyl 520 soon that will then give a slight power improvement to the current under-power 520?

The current 2l valvetronic will be upgrade to put out 150bhp instead of 143bhp and the touque improved from 200Nm to 210Nm. That is quite a decent figures for a 2 litre NA block. The new 5 series will only be 525i and above. No more 520i in the future......... :thinking:

very sad.....currently enjoying my e46 320 2.2L...though the 2.2L may not be the perfect combination with the 6cyl as compare to that of 325, but the 'kick' is highly satisfactory. Thinking of my future 'upgrading' option ...e90 325: certainly an excellent engine would it be too powerful for me? e60 520: certainly an under-power combination unless with built-in valvetronic would be much better and could provide me an option to stick back to 2.2L... scratching my head man...as i am a 'sedan' man

Read a motor magazine in Frankrurt's airport that there will still be a 520i in the new engine line-up, only that it's gonna be a 2.5l de-tuned lump. Not quite sure if it makes any sense at all. Guess we'll have to see how things pan out then
