vkool

Hi there!

I just signed up as a member and also a new owner. I have this fundamental issue with my car and I am not sure if this is a common problem among you guys.

I am unable to open the car door from a distance and at times I can only open it by standing right next to the car! I was told that this was due to vkool which I installed. Is that true?

I was also told that BM uses radio freqency for its keys and the frequency "lines" are installed at the rear wind screen. Would removing the vkool caused damage to these radio frequency lines? I am trying to test if this is indeed due to vkool.

Appreciate if anyone can help me out.

Thanks!

Re: vkool

yes. vkool is one of those brands that have very strong metalic properties which inhibit the signal of ur keyfob to the car.

perfectly normal.

unfortunately nothing much u can do about it besides taking ur vkool off.

Re: vkool

Thanks. But would it damage the frequency lines by removing vkool ? I was told that the radio lines (new technology) are embedded at the rear windscreen.

u sure? not heard of that. what model is ur bimmer?

Re: vkool

320.

I was told it can possibly be damaged by removing my vkool from the windscreen. I am quite surprised when told if this by the technician. Or was he trying to "smoke" me!

Is it a new technology that the radio lines are embedded on the rear windscreen ?

Any idea?

Thanks

i was under the impression antenna was via the shark fin. in any case if professionally removed by vkool themselves, i dun forsee any issues.

Re: vkool

I am using vkool. Never had any problem with the remote. But not sure if it is because my is a cabriolet and the signal can go through fabric.
