Hi Bros,

Need your advice. I would like to install a dvd player wif TV reception into my ride. I want to utilise the current speakers and preferably not have to do any cutting of the car. Is this possible? Any products to recommend and the price range?

thanks a lot,
jooggie

Re: Want to install DVD player into E90

Hi all.

I'm also looking for a dvd player (preferably arm rest mounted) for my E90 320.
Doesn't matter if it's china or korean brand as long it utilises the stock setup.
More for my kid to watch while travelling in the car.
Anyone with recommedations? (workshops/brands) etc
Tks

Why not just pick up one of the new SONY portable DVD players with screen and hook it up to your lighter socket and have endless hours of entertainment without modifying anything in your ride?

Alternatively, you might want to drop Kelvin of Sound Werkz (one of our site sponsors) a call to see what he can offer.

He's done quite a bit of BMWs and is in quite a position to help out.

Number is Tel : (+65) 6475 8588.

Best suggestion. Cheap, good and stock. Ha ha.

Yeah portable DVD player is the way cos it can be moved to back seat for the kids and they can continue with the movie after u reach the destination. The in-car thing is good to have but not very practical. I only played DVD on it once, just for fun of it. Once the car moves, the video blanks out with DVD still running with only audio, and the kids start complaining lol.

Thanks guys.
Will take a look this weekend at the portable players.
Less hassle.
Tks for the suggestions.

Sidewalker, another thing... tell your kids if they want to watch DVDs, stay at home...

Save a few hundred buck!

Re: Want to install DVD player into E90

It is better to bring them out zoom zoom so that they do not stayed glued to the TV or computer all day. But I do suspect that like the built-in player, the portable one may become a white elephant but less so. Maybe use the money to get a Nintendo DSi ;)

Noted guys. Still deciding whether to have 1 in the car.
But I always play educational dvds. And his only 3 so it's just to make sure he learns while on the move. :yummie:
no mobile phones or game consoles until he finishes his O levels. :screwedu: :yikess: :lol2:

BMW have got a portable DVD called Tablet DVD. It comes with 2 screen that can be mounted on the headrest and can be removed and placed as a standalone as long as there is AC supply.

The last i got it, it was going at a promo price of $1088 incl GST. Slightly more expensive than Philips or other brand out there but this come with a 2 years warranty from BMW and the wiring is pretty neat. The set is being showcased in PML Alexandra Parts.

Cheers
