What tyre pressure to pump?

Guy,

I just changed to 245/30/20 and 275/30/20 but after changing, it gives me "tyre might be puncture" alarm. So, I went to petrol kiosk and pump 260 each and the indication disappear....

Steering becomes very light but I am worried that during a hot day, the front tyres might just burst :p

just wondering if there is some charts or something for tyre pressure and how did you guys pump usually do it?

Sorry for the nobb quest :)
Thanks!

There should be a chart near your door sill/frame?

Re: What tyre Brand and what pressure to pump?

Any bro driving 730Li willing to share your experience using different brand of tyres and the pressure?

Currently using Bridgestone Turanza 245/50 R18. Thinking of changing to other brand like CSC 3 or CSC 5 or Dunlop Sport Maxx TT etc.

Thank you.

Re: What tyre pressure to pump?

Anyone can advise appropriate tire pressure for :

255/35/20
285/30/20

Thanks

In general, 10% more than what is recommended by manufacturer for best FC. I usually pump 250 all around.

But both tires not same size how come similar pressure. 10% more means less traction I suppose

Re: What tyre pressure to pump?

Ya I know... I use to put 240 front n 250 back. Got lazy recently... hence 250 all around...hehe

Less contact point means less drag factor. So ya, 10% more air will give optimal FC in that regard.

All possible. Tire pressure are subjective to each person. I like it hard & bouncy & some like it soft & comfy..

Standard practice for most tire shop (be it 16'' or 20'') 250 ~ 260 all round.

Cheers ~~ :)

Re: What tyre pressure to pump?

Wish to share my latest experience here......

Just changed all my 4 tyres to CSC 3 245/50 R18 at Sport 93 Mr Yang yesterday.

The tyre pressure was pumped at 250 for all 4 tyres. However, I felt the driving was rough and somewhat noisier compared to the previous Bridgestone Turanza, also 245/50 R18.

This morning, I changed the pressure, following the OEM recommended tyre pressure plate on the driver door side for 245/50 R18 tyres. The pressure I pumped was 220 for the front and 260 for the back.

I felt the driving is now quieter and more comfortable.

Regards.

Just called Mr Yang who sold me rims. It should be 240 front and 260 rear

Re: What tyre pressure to pump?

Best to follow label at driver door. There are recommended pressures for RFT and normal, for the various tyre sizes and profiles, and also passenger and baggage loads.
