Where to weigh cars here?

Having done some weight-shaving mods in recent time, I am kinda curious of how much weight loss has been achieved.

So, does anyone out there know where to weigh cars?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input Rick..

Re: Where to weigh cars here?

How about some port/container handling company? Don't they have to weigh the container before shipping?
But the big question is "What was the original weight of your car in the first place?"

Re: Where to weigh cars here?

how accurate are these industrial sized weighing machines? if they're accurate only to the nearest 5/10kg or so, may not be worth the effort.

IMHO, better off weighing the stock parts you removed and compare it to the weight of the new parts to calculate the weight savings.

besides, lightening of unsprung weight will have greater impact on handling/acceleration than lightening other parts of your car like the bonnet - weighing the whole car won't be able to differentiate between this.

All weigh bridges cater for trailers and machinery and wonder if they provide services for car
Anyway, try :

Should be very accurate as they actually issue weight certificates for commercial purposes.

Too many items already and have forgotten mostly and not only that, some of the items I replaced didnt reveal much info on weight.

You are right bout unsprung weight affecting acceleration, braking etc but again all those sprung weight loss also contribute quite alot. So it all adds up.

Like M3 CSL, the only unsprung weight it has advantage over regular M3 is actually just the CSL rims, nothing else and yet the car is faster and handles better than M3.
So where do they rest come from? CF roof, plastic bonnet, thin window glass, CF door, CF seats etc all of which are sprung as far as weight goes.

Thanks info dude

Cheers all

wahaha.... that must be one of the understatements of the year bro! will you be weighing the Z or the M?

Re: Where to weigh cars here?

The M..
The Z is getting heavier in fact after those M3 brakes but I am bout to save 4kg a corner very soon that is HUGE savings.

yeah, the ultraleggeras will also save me about 3kg a corner even if i choose to upgrade from 17" to 18". good stuff, can't wait to see them on your Z!

didn't you change the exhaust on the Z? i'm sure that would save you quite a bit in weight as well...
