reviving an old topic - but anyone knows which workshop can do a good job at reasonable cost?
had an unpleasant experience at a so-called glass specialist located at synergy@kb (the workshop's name contains the word "glass"). they also specialised in headlights. after polishing the scratches are still visible, is almost like never polished before.

but seriously, is glass polishing still a feasible option? there are many skeptics who said that it can't be done well as glass is a very hard material and it's extremely difficult to remove even a microscopic layer.

Sounds familiar .. hahaha .. But seriously, if the company did not do a good job, why don't you go back to them and get them to rectify? I've heard not very positive reviews about the company you'd described but I have not experienced it myself.

i went back once, the rectification didn't make much difference. i lodged a case with CASE and got a refund.
if they continue to conduct their business this way, they will be out of business very soon.

Oh dear, you needed to lodge an official complaint then they refunded...really not professional. I did make enquiries with a glass repair company some time back over a stone chip on my previous ride but was later advised to 're-consider other options'. Not sure if we're talking about the same company.

But agree, it will be their downfall if they continue like this.

I believe in prevention is better than cure. For headlights, I always put a protective film over, that has UV protection properties as well. Car after 7 years, headlights is still like new.

Protective film over headlights glass cover? Where to do pls?

after some consideration, i am inclined not to pursue the polishing option. reason being that, after polishing, it's still an old glass with numerous micro pits on it. furthermore, some scratches are actually on the solar film and hence to eliminate all the scratches, i would need to change the film as well. after that, i still need to pay to reapply back the glass coating (i like the beading effect). it's too much efforts and money.

but if it gets hit by a stone and cracked, then of course have no choice but to change it. but i kinda believe that factory seal glass is still the best and replacement of the whole glass should be the last resort.

Agree, that factory seal is still the best. No choice, part and parcel of vehicle ownership.

Hello, I have always used the services of a car wash, but this was no use. No one will be able to polish the glass in the car or simply clean the interior as you can.
