X1 & 320

I had on two different trips rented 320i in Munich airport and X1 in Schipol airport
Both are auto trans / diesel.
Covered almost 1000km on just one full tank mostly highway driving
with X1 having better FC
Unlike on the German autobahn where I could take the 3 serie to about 200km/h ( didn't want to push further as there were some ice sleets that came off some trucks and being not
familiar with foreign roads),
I couldn't do so with the X1 as most dutch higways have speed limit of only 120km/h
The iDrive nav is awesome, much more user friendly and very accurate and I
could find the nearest station to top up before returning the car.
In comparision, I found the Audi nav system difficult to use in another trip
when I had rented a A5.
Hope to try the Z4 on my next trip
p.s. Europe highway road condition is fabulous compares to our dink-doink roads

just a by-the-way advice to those who need nav system when renting a car in europe not to rent audi unless you have your own GPS...

And I would recommend X1, might be my next choice when I change car
Good handling with sufficient pick up power when eco is off.
Love the boot space and will likely to choose white which I think goes well with X1 look

What were the specs of the x1 you rented?

Diesel 2.0 auto transmission, milage 30k.
It came with a German registration plate even though I was in Netherlands

It will be cool if and when they bring in the diesel in sg. Was this a xdrive or sdrive?

Diesel benefit cannot be maximised with city drive.

Diesel 20d specs should read 181 hp, 380 Nm.

Not insulting them in any way but just wanna warn you about the sulphur content.
You read those threads too
Not too sure how sulphur kill the cat converter , is it once used cat die or use to certain extend then the meow collapse

I know abt the suphur content issues. I have had frens who have driven all over malaysia in their tdi with no problems.

It is DPF & not meow meow lah.

There are certain type of DPF does not require ULSD. Can't rem which 1. BMW definitely cannot.
