Peter Schwartzenberg previously announced that MINI will be shifting focus on creating five superhero models. Four of them have already been launched. The last one will be coming in 2019, and it will be an electric vehicle!
In an interview with Automotive News at the New York Auto Show, Sebastian Mackensen, the global head of MINI said the upcoming car will be here by 2019 and it will be an electric vehicle: “The electric car is not meant to just have an offering so you can say you have an electric car, but really nobody buys it. No, it’s a real car, and people will hopefully buy it.â€
It is yet to be known what type of car it will be built on. The recent trend of MINI vehicles is of increasing in size. The recently unveiled Countryman is the largest model they ever built. The fifth superhero may also take this direction.
