While the star of our Spanish escapade was undoubtedly Mini’s latest electric Cooper SE, one other car that drew plenty (and I do mean, plenty) of curious looks from journos around the world was the Aceman that Mini brought along as (sadly) a static showcase.
Slightly larger than the Cooper, a tad smaller than the latest all-grown-up Countryman and sporting much better proportions than the 5-door Cooper hatchbacks, the Aceman seemed to have nailed the sweet spot in the size and styling department. A sentiment widely shared among many of us present. (Some even preferred the styling of the Aceman over the Cooper!)
According to our sources, the MINI Aceman E will launch with two different drivetrains. The first option features a 42.5kWh battery paired with a 181bhp electric motor, generating a peak torque of 290Nm. This setup provides the crossover with a WLTP range of 308km and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds. Oh yes, the Aceman will be Electric only.
Being a Mini, expect it to have sharp handling and plenty of fun easter eggs peppered into the driving experience. Would you prefer to have one of these or a Cooper? We will have to wait and see how it drives once it arrives on our local shores!
