Spotted: MINI Convertible JCW with Camo on the Nurburgring

A few months ago, the MINI Convertible JCW model was unveiled in the United States. Since then, automotive journalists have grabbed every opportunity to test drive and see what this car is capable of. Reviews have only nice words about handling and sound of the MINI Convertible JCW. It is surprising though that a prototype model was spotted testing in Nurburgring, wearing camouflage!

It is a mystery why the prototype is wearing camouflage because this car is on the market already. Why is MINI continuing the testing of this vehicle? Are they possibly developing special versions of the vehicle? Both MINI and BMW are known for releasing special editions once in a while. However, this doesn’t usually involve testing on Green Hell since changes are mostly visual or in the details.

Could this then be a JCW Convertible with more power? Perhaps with bigger brakes and some suspension changes? Possible. However, the video shows a car that is very similar to the standard version. It doesn’t give us any hint.

Soon enough, the reason will be revealed. Fort now, it will be a good idea to test drive a JCW Convertible. Enjoy the 231 horsepower both a manual and automatic gearbox. It is not the fastest, but it’s definitely fun!
